My husband and I have known each other since we were 7 years old. He was my best friend in high school. We drove a 1952 beat up Chevy to school every day and talked and laughed the whole way there. We fell in love my senior year and dated then broke up because it was just too much at such a young age. 4 years later, without every getting back together, he proposed. We were still in college but so in love we got married. 18 years later, he's still my best friend.
While we were engaged, he saved up all of his money and got me a tiny diamond necklace as a special Christmas gift. As the years went on, I didn't wear the diamond necklace anymore but decided I wanted to put it on a bangle to remind me of all the work we'd done to get where we are. Everything from finances, to parenting, to relationship work and just to commemorate that sweet sacrificial gift he gave me.
My stack is all about honoring the people that mean the most to me. I have one for each child, a twist for a baby we lost, the diamond he gave me and one to honor my grandma.
